Assigned Reading for Monday

For Monday, please read and complete the "Scale of the Universe" tutorial on MasteringAstronomy. You can find it by logging into MasteringAstronomy, clicking Study Area > Self Guided Tutorials > Scale of the Universe.

Since the Bad Astronomy textbook is not stocked in the bookstore yet, I will be postponing that reading assignment until later.

Need to sell your textbook?

As I mentioned in class today, the Essential Cosmic Perspective is recommended but not required for my two sections of PHY 102. If you're one of the people that bought the Essential Cosmic Perspective textbook, took the shrink wrap off, want to sell it, but can't return it to the campus bookstore, I'd suggest posting it for sale on E-net Want Ads.

No Labs This Week

As is customary for the lab sciences, there is no lab during the first week of classes. We will begin attempting astronomy labs next week. Later this week, I will be e-mailing you details about the format of the labs for this semester.
