Make an APOD Poster

On Friday, April 3rd, Elon University and the Alamance County Astronomy Club will be hosting a public stargaze at Northeast Park from 8 to 10 PM. This will be just one of hundreds of similar events held around the world as part of the "100 Hours of Astronomy" weekend. Aside from just setting up telescopes, I'm hoping to have a few students from PHY 102 set up poster describing a few interesting astronomy items. I would suggest converting a page from the Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) site into a poster using the template below. That is the easy part. The hard part is to become an expert on this object! You should understand every word and acronym on the poster before the event. You will likely need to read a few Wikipedia and/or NASA entries.

Today in class, we're going to each make a poster. If you are interested in printing it and presenting it at Northeast Park, please let me know.
