Adieu

In August 2022, Coleman released a recording of one of his very first compositions, Adieu. He composed the work for string orchestra when he was 18 years old at the encouragement of his orchestra teacher, Rich Christensen, to enter in the MENC National Student Composition Contest. The piece ended up winning the national award for the high school category and was subsequently premiered in Washington, D.C. at the MENC National Conference in 1990. The work is published by Highland/Etling, a division of Alfred Publishing and is primarily performed by high school level orchestras and all-state honors ensembles.
