Directions
- Start by importing PW5Strings.zip into Eclipse.
- Pay attention to the comments in the code, starting at the top.
- The problems are marked by comments like
// ----- PROBLEM 1 ----- - Complete the problems one at a time, checking your work as you go. The comments will help direct your efforts. The video provides additional guidance on what you should do.
- Complete all five marked problems as directed. Get assistance from the instructor as needed.
Resources
Do not use any resources other than the ones listed below. In particular, do not search the Web for code samples. The point of these exercises is to create code on your own, not to find an answer that has already been created.
- Brainstorm with your partner. Although this is a computer class, use pencil and paper!
- Use class notes and sample projects from this week about decision code
- Use the general resources on the CSC 130 Main Page
- Use the CSC 130 tutors
- Visit the instuctor during office hours or by appointment
Grading
Recall that partner work assignments are worth 30 points each. Refer to the syllabus for more course grading information. The first problem is a warmup worth 0 points, but must be completed to received credit. Each of the 5 subsequent problems are worth 6 points. Emphasis is placed on correct use of strings and string methods Java.
Submission

Each pair will submit 1 file by taking two actions. Make sure both names appear as comments in the submissions. Details are below.
- Moodle: Upload just the YourWork.java file to Moodle. Do not export to a zip file.
- Email: Copy and paste the code in YourWork.java into the body of an email message to the instructor. cc your partner on the email message.
