- Faculty advisor for the student film “Zen and the Art of Snowboarding,” by Ashley Mattioli, Raymond Large, and Larry Butler—a top entry in the Elon Film Festival.Faculty advisor for project/film on the impact of 9/11, produced by Communications major Mary Taylor.
- The film—“9/11: The Long Way Home”—was the highlight of Senior Showcase 2002, as well as winning the Best Documentary Award at the Elon Film Festival.
- Faculty advisor for SURF 2002 presentation, "Communications Collision: Media Convergence in the 21st Century," by Jason Diebler, Melissa Dodge, Samiha Khanna, Carmen Phillips and Lauren Vilis—a standout presentation for the year, and one growing out of an assignment for JCM 315.
