The Chemistry Minor
A minor in chemistry consists of 20-24 sh and requires the following courses:
General chemistry (CHM 111, 113, 112, 114) or (CHM 115, 116)
Organic chemistry (CHM 211, 213, 212, 214)
Eight additional hours selected from: CHM 205, 305, 311, 321, 351 & 352, 353 & 354, 471-79
For Biology Majors…
A minor in chemistry requires 8 semester hours beyond the chemistry requirements for the biology degree or 4 semester hours beyond completing BIO 351/352 (Biochemistry I), which counts towards both the chemistry minor and the biology major.
For Environmental Studies Science Concentration Majors…
A minor in chemistry requires CHM 213/214 (Organic II with Lab) plus 4 semester hours beyond the chemistry requirements for the environmental science degree with a science concentration or just CHM 213/214 (Organic II with Lab) beyond completing CHM 311 (Quantitative Analysis).
