Biography

Lawrence L. Garber, Jr. is Associate Professor of Marketing at the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business at Elon University, and Visiting Professor at IMT Ghaziabad, India. He holds a Ph.D. in business administration with a concentration in marketing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an MBA from Yale University, an AB from Brown University, and he attended the Cleveland Institute of Art for painting, and the Parsons School of Design for illustration.

Previously, he taught at Appalachian State University, Boone, NC, the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA), and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to entering academe, Professor Garber was Senior Analyst in Marketing Sciences at Glaxo Pharmaceuticals, now GlaxoSmithKline, RTP, NC, and BBDO Advertising, NYC; and was for several years a freelance illustrator in NYC whose clients included Fortune and Barron’s financial magazines, and Viking-Penguin and Holt-Rinehart Winston Publishers.

His research interests include visual information processing and persuasion, marketing communication and branding, nonprofit and arts marketing, marketing education, and the visual presentation of statistical data.
