I have taught writing for almost a quarter century. Six years at UT El Paso, and the last fifteen at Elon College. Still, each writing student, and each time I write, is new. One of my favorite quotes about writing is William Stafford's "Writers are not so much people who have something to say as they are people who have found a process that will bring about new things they would not have thought of if they had not started to say them." |
