Midterm Review - CIS 211 - Management Information Systems
To get a sense of what the written portion of the midterm exam will be like, refer to a midterm exam that I gave in Spring 2009.
For our CIS 211 exam, a list of terms and concepts from the chapters and business plug-ins of our textbook appears below. You should find it helpful to be able to do the following things (as seen in the practice exam given above):
- define or describe the terms or concepts in your own words;
- give examples of the terms or concepts;
- distinguish similar or opposing terms or concepts; and
- analyze a scenario for the existence of terms or concepts
The written portion of the midterm exam will cover the material from the class notes, guided reading exercises, and textbook reading in addition to terms and concepts appearing below. However, no terms that appear in the textbook but do not appear in any of the other class resources mentioned in the previous sentence will appear on the midterm exam.
Students do not need to memorize the meaning of acronyms. Any acronym used in exam questions will be accompanied by its meaning, except for the following acronyms: MIS, IT.
As seen in the review exam, the planned exam format is a collection multiple-choice questions of varying degrees of difficulty. A small number of open-ended short answer questions may also appear. This format is subject to change without notice.
