Professor Copeland . . .
joined the Elon University School of Communications faculty in 2001. He teaches media history and the capstone courses in the School. He is also the program director of Elon's graduate program in interactive media. In 2006, he was named the Distinguished University Scholar by Elon University, and in 1998, the Virginia Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. Professor Copeland holds the Ph.D. in mass communication research from the University of North Carolina.
