Instructional technology is a complex interaction that occurs within a school or educational setting, where instructional design incorporates the tools of technology, in the most effective way to help students meet curriculum goals. The resources available to educators include hardware, software, internet resources, and professional development to enable them to use the resources. In North Carolina , as well as in other states, there are currently curriculum standards for students K-12 North Carolina Standard Course of Study and for educators ISTE Educational Technology Standards. The goal of the computer skills curriculum for students is to learn computer skills as they are seamlessly integrated into all curriculum instruction.
