Amanda Sturgill

I am an associate professor of communications at Elon University, where I teach courses in journalism and new media. My major research interest is how effective online communication technologies are for disadvantaged populations such as the elderly, the rural, the poor and the disabled. Other areas of research include new communication technologies, organizational communication and media and religion.

I am a past head of the Religion and Media Interest Group for AEJMC, and maintain the Religion and Media blog site. I am the present professional freedom and responsibility chair of the Communication Technology Division.
