ccuracy, balance, clarity and detail are key to the creation of quality content that communicates effectively on the Internet, in print publications, in advertising, broadcast, corporate communications or any other area of media.

Elon University School of Communications writing and multimedia production courses COM 110, 310, 340 and 450 focus on text-based writing style in long, medium and short forms, as its principles are the basis for all media forms. These are the goals of any media content creator.

Students in these courses will be expected to strive to do their best to fulfill these goals on each and every assignment throughout the semester. Quality and attention to detail are expected at all times.

ACADEMIC HONOR CODE

Elon students are expected to: refrain from cheating, including plagiarism; refrain from lying; express opinions with civility and with consideration for the opinions of others; respect shared intellectual property and resources; promote the importance of the honor code in all their interactions for the benefit of the learning community.

Each student must take responsibility for addressing the issue of integrity with other members of the community who violate standards. A student who witnesses a violation of the academic honor code is expected to confront the suspected student and/or report the violation to the Office of Academic Affairs, located in Alamance.

All members of the community must work together to ensure that Elon is a place at which each individual can experience the most sound academic and personal development. It is hoped and expected that all students will choose positively to uphold a standard of integrity.
