PHY 103: Introduction to Geology
Course Description:

An integrated approach which includes the nature and origin of rocks
and minerals, evolution (gradual and sudden) of the landscape, plate
tectonics, geologic time, and shorelines.
Students will be actively involved in a laboratory with
emphasis on physical geology.
Topographic maps, landform models, seismograms, and rock and
mineral samples will be investigated.
Four semester hours.
No credit toward the Physics major or minor.
Out of class work required—this course carries lab credit.
